Remember, Pour Into Yourself. ✨

I don't know about y'all, but the days, weeks, and months are flying by! Everytime I look up, it seems like it's either Sunday, Monday, or Wednesday, no in-between. Sometimes the days and weeks become a blur and it can be difficult to remember to pour into yourself. Nonetheless, with a new week, brings new beginnings! ✨

Last week, I shared some lessons that I have learned over the past year. If you missed that post, check it out here. I love this quote by June Jordan which says, "I am a feminist, and what that means to me is much the same as the meaning of the fact that I am Black; it means that I must undertake to love myself and to respect myself as though my very life depends upon self-love and self-respect.” Imagine that, loving yourself as though your life depends on it, and when we really think about it, in many ways it does.

For me, pouring into myself means taking time to do the things that bring me joy and that energize me, no matter how small. For example, I love to sing and dance. I implement singing and dancing into my daily activities, whether it's a small performance while getting dressed or a mid-day concert in the living room. Pouring into myself also looks like taking time to give my hair some TLC or to go for a walk and spend some time in nature.

I have a challenge for us, let's create a list of things that we can do to pour back into ourselves. If you wanna spice it up, write those things on post-it's and put them in a jar or some cute and festive container. I love to grab glass jars from #DollarTree. When you are in need of a pick-me-up, choose one randomly out of the jar, and do it. Whether its a few minutes or a few weeks, be intentional about scheduling time to pour into yourself.

Radical Reflection:

What are some ways that you will pour into yourself this week? How will you be intentional about this time of self-care and self-love? What are some things that you need (mentally, physically, etc.)?
