A revolution is a forcible overthrow of a government or social order, in favor of a new system.
@sarahjakesroberts The Revolution Tour’s first stop was in my hometown of Atlanta, GA! 🍑Sharing this @womanevolve experience with my mommy and @najmatahira was EVERYTHING! ✨ What started as just a weekend visit home, ended up being a time for a radical reset and radical reinvention! Sounds dramatic, but our long-weekend was filled with miracles and soo much love and laughter! The Revolution starts with you!
My mommy, Najma, and I started a group chat titled, "Faith Talks." There we send sermons, talk about our struggles and our wins, send prayer requests, and really push ourselves to grow deeper in our relationship with God. As three entrepreneurs, we are always sharing business tips, lessons, and resources with one another. Since we've started this group and space for our Faith Talks, our lives have all started to change. The ways that we show up in the world has changed. The words we speak to ourselves and over ourselves has changed. The best part about being on this journey with others, is that there is no judgment, in fact, we are able to support each other when one falls off, or when we notice a change in the way one of us is speaking about ourselves or others. In this space, we have fostered an environment that is indeed ready for a revolution!
We met up downtown Atlanta to get parked and most importantly beat the Atlanta traffic! We stopped by the Fox Theater, where we took a couple of photos before the event, to beat the crowds and get as many photos as we wanted! It was so refreshing to feel the warm air on our skin, the gentle breeze, and then be surrounded by other Black women, in the city, to hear the words of another Black woman, Sarah Jakes Roberts.
After we had a mini-photoshoot, we headed to Poor Calvin's for dinner! We arrived about 15 minutes before opening, so if you are planning on stopping by, definitely make a reservation or try and grab a bar seat, like we did! We loved the vibes in Poor Calvin's, the friendly staff and awesome manager made our experience one of a kind! We had the fried rice dinners, with a lobster version and a vegan pork version, DELICIOUS! The drinks were also awesome and sooo cute! The bartenders were great and kept us feeling welcomed and not rushed.
After dinner, we walked back to the Fox Theater, where our tickets gave us entry to the Marquee Club! The Marquee Club is a three story lounge, with bars on each floor, and plenty of food and dessert options available. They even had vegan options! 10/10! We were able to access this area throughout the event, which meant during the intermissions, we were able to skip the long lines, and head to one of many bars in the club area, and get more snacks that were already included with our tickets! Cheers to that! 🥂
The Message
I don't know about y'all, but I absolutely love Sarah Jakes Roberts. I feel seen and heard through her messages, and I feel empowered to transform my faith and in turn, my life. Check out my Youtube playlist of sermons if you're ever in need of a spiritual pick-me-up. If you know me, you know I'm going to take some notes. Either I took notes, or I wasn't there. I wanted to share my notes from the Revolution Tour's first stop, Atlanta, Georgia. Here is just a glimpse at some of what I soaked in. Don't forget that the Revolution starts with you!
